Travelling in the conventional sense is visiting places of interest after having enough research done on the place, the people, with enough information about the necessary amenities and finally getting a nice vacation executed.
Humans are by instincts travelers and it was this urge to see more of the 'distant' lands that Columbus and Alexander have won virtue as greatest discovers and heroic travelers.
However, it is sort of a shame to restrict travel to being present in a new place at a convenient time. What we set out to do then becomes merely spending our time in exotic locales making it a worthwhile vacation. One may argue that travelling is perceived as being synonymous to vacations because between work and family and responsibilities, more than often, people are hand-cuffed to making these two coincide. It is indeed justified to begin treating travelling like a getting a customized meal at a restaurant choosing which topping to add with which sauce.And most obviously the reason behind why people rather have a perfectly planned agenda for most of our travels is because they know its one vacation they ought not waste.
Perhaps all of us are bound to the same logic that weaves us to be merely tourists and everything thereon about the magic of travelling ceases to be revealed.
But, for all that stands testimony, true travelling is a venture taken up without any premeditation, devoid of any expectation or pre-judgements and one that stays completely mystical to the undertaker. It becomes fulfilling only when the traveller keeps his mind open to all kinds of surprises that come to meet the traveller's way.
The thrill of life lies in his surprises. It is in deciding how you want your journey to go that all adventure becomes choked with apprehensions that are but fore casted realities.
